Norwood

ABOUT OUR NORWOOD LOCATION:
Our Norwood taproom is open Tuesday through Sunday, pouring a variety of 18 different Castle Island beers and hard seltzers. We’ve got a ton of tasty treats courtesy of our friends at Bardo’s including their award-winning bar pizza, sandwiches, apps, and sweets. And make sure to hit the retail shop for beer-to-go, Castle Island merch and more.
Plan your next night out and scope out our events calendar for upcoming trivia, craft nights, live music and more. All are welcome, including families with kids, but entrance is restricted to those 21+ after 8pm daily.
We are thrilled to welcome back dogs at our Norwood location! Dogs are welcome indoors and outside, but must be leashed and under their owner’s control at all times. Additional policies regarding dogs in Norwood are posted in our taproom.
Starting June 2023, Castle Island Brewing Co. in Norwood will no longer be accepting reservations and will be operating on a walk-in basis only. This change was made to bring back the classic brewery feel we enjoyed pre-pandemic, and we have added extra space and seats to make sure there is always room for you.
We are exploring options for larger groups who do not require a private space; until then, our taproom remains first come, first served. As always, we welcome your feedback and thank you for your patience and support.
Full and partial buyouts remain available through our private events program, which you can learn more about here.
Drop us a line with any other questions.

NORWOOD: OUR HOME SINCE DAY ONE
True story: the word “Norwood” doesn’t appear in our original business plan.
When we set out to open Castle Island, we had our sights set on finding a location in Metro Boston. It took us a while to figure out that wasn’t going to happen – zoning, space constraints, and a high-rent real estate market were all working against us.
As we grew our search radius around the area, we eventually found a building in a small town called Norwood that met all the criteria we had for a brewery. We toured the building, liked what we saw, and were ultimately convinced by the sign that hung above the loading dock that read, “If you’re not proud of it, don’t ship it.” That sign still hangs there today.
Ever since then we’ve been beyond proud to call Norwood our home. A town of loyal, beer-loving locals, the community has welcomed us with open arms and we’ve been overjoyed to accept. We opened our doors here on December 11, 2015, an unseasonably warm and beautiful day, and celebrated the moment with a sign on our front door that encouraged our guests to “Be excellent to each other.” In the time since that day, we’ve hosted countless birthday parties, weddings, can car derbies, charity fundraisers, conferences, politicians, professional athletes, and – most importantly – Castle Island fans who come straight to the source for a pint of their preferred thirst quencher.
Inspired by West Coast breweries whose production floors become an integrated backdrop for the taproom, our Norwood facility puts you in sniffing distance of where the magic is made. We invite you to visit us and enjoy a beer in the ideal setting – the place where that beer was born.
