Castle Island Brewing Company is hiring part-time and full-time Bartenders / Servers to join the team at our new taproom in South Boston, MA. For the last five years, we’ve focused on building a community around inclusivity, approachability, and excellence, and we need help serving amazing beer while making our guests feel at home. Role & Responsibilities:
- Serve taproom guests at the bar and at tables
o Verify age of guests
o Accurately pour beer into the correct glass for the style
o Fill growlers
o Comply with all food and beverage regulations - Provide excellent customer service
o Create a hospitable environment for guests who sit at tables, or order at the bar
o Maintain full knowledge of our menu items and be able to accurately describe beer and food items to guests
o Understand the basics of beer and the brewing process and what makes Castle Island beer different and special - Use POS system to ring in sales
o Open and maintain bar tabs
o Accurately handle cash
o Maintain a clean and fully stocked space
o Keep bar top clean between guests
o Complete opening, mid-shift and closing checklists
o Stock bar and dining room inventory and supplies - Assist with retail transactions
o Verify age of all guests purchasing alcohol
o Knowledgeably and accurately sell retail to beer to guests
o Pull and deliver curbside retail orders
o Maintain a clean and well-stocked retail space, with all SKUs represented and shoppable - Have a good time, all the time
Requirements:
- A deep passion for craft beer is a must
- Dedicated and strong team player
- Organized with great attention to detail
- Exceptional guest service skill set
- Ability to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
- Retail, bartending and/or tasting room experience is preferred
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items up to 55lbs repetitively during entire shift
- Ability to be on their feet for the majority of the shift
- Is currently or is willing to become TIPS certified within 30 days of start date
- Applicants must be 21+ years old
