Castle Island Brewing Company is hiring part-time bartenders to join the crew at our new Norwood Beer Garden. If you have a passion for approachable craft beer, an inclusive community, and awesome hospitality, then this is your chance to be part of one of the most exciting breweries in Massachusetts.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Welcome each guest hospitably
  • Inform and educate customer on beer styles, the brewing process, and current offerings
  • Provide the guest with exceptional brand, product, equipment, event and local area knowledge
  • Pour and serve beer properly
  • Move and restock kegs and merchandise as directed
  • Manage draft levels and ensure proper operation of draft equipment
  • Clean (behind bar, tables, ground, restrooms, walk-in cooler, etc.)
  • Adhere to company safety, sanitary, etc. policies and procedures
  • Accurately operate the cash register, manage deposits, and operate the POS system
  • Checking IDs to determine who can enter the beer garden
  • Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication (TIPS Certification a requirement before start date)

Requirements:

  • Must be passionate about craft beer, any prior experience with beer/brewing is a plus
  • Must be a team player who excels in a small business environment
  • Must be reliable and organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must be able to keep up with a high energy, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, repeatedly lift objects up to 55 pounds, and bend, twist, and turn as required
  • Must be at least 21 and have reliable transportation to the beer garden
  • Must have availability nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Bartending, retail, and/or brewery experience preferred

    • How would you describe your idea of the perfect beer?
    • Good or bad, what’s the most memorable experience you’ve had in a bar or taproom?
    • How would you deal with a rowdy or intoxicated guest?
